Do
I need B Supplements?
Generally speaking, if you are not one
of the people in the above categories, you should be able
to get just enough B vitamins from your daily food source.
However, doctors still suggest us to take B supplements.
There are two major reasons for this:
1). B vitamins are water-soluble which means you need to
intake enough of them everyday. Your body does not store
them for over-night usage. Therefore, you need to maintain
a wide range of diet every day all year long. This is usually
hard to keep up with.
2). Most of us are bias when we eat, as mentioned before,
a healthy individual need every single one of the eight
B vitamins because they are so closely related to each other.
According to studies, most of the American people do get
enough of B1, B2, B3 and B9 but lack of B5, B6, B7 and B12
from the "preferred" food sources.
Most of B vitamins are not harmful to the human body even
with large dose. Therefore, take some extra B supplements
ensures us with a good health. For general purposes, we
suggest people take a combination supplement of all B-vitamins.
